On 10 and 11th October in Liptovsky Hradok the Slovak Wildlife Society, under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment, organized the second workshop on the management plan for brown bears in Slovakia. The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Alistair Bath. The Polish team working on the management plan for Poland took part in this meeting. We joined the discussion on transboundary issues in brown bear population management with the presentation entitled “Brown bear in Poland: status and needs of a transboundary population”. The importance of cooperation was emphasized and agreed on. In the next two days (12-13 october) we also took part in the seminar "Implementation and work of an emergency team for solving urgent conflicts between bears and humans" led by Prof. Djuro Huber. We presented the immobilization and dead bear sampling protocols created for the purposes of the management plan in Poland.
